CultureOne - Single-use disk-type centrifuge

By improving the product recovery rate from the culture medium in the first step of the separation and purification process of the biopharmaceutical process, it significantly contributes to the overall increase in productivity.

Alpha Laval CultureOne, developed by consolidating the technology and know-how of centrifugal separation for cell recovery in biopharmaceutical processes that Alpha Laval has cultivated over many years, is a single-use disc-type centrifuge. It achieves gentle cell processing and high product recovery rates, which are characteristics of Alpha Laval's hermetic (completely sealed) centrifuges, even in single-use processes. **Benefits of CultureOne:** - Minimization of cell lysis due to gentle cell processing - Improved clarity of separation liquid and product recovery rates through high-efficiency separation - Advanced separation in the initial step reduces the burden of downstream purification processes and consumable replacements using filters We also have test units available domestically. Please feel free to contact us.

Application Case Studies of Centrifuges: Life Sciences Edition

Achieving hybrid separation through centrifugal separation and membrane separation.

Alfa Laval meets the demands for advanced separation of recombinant E. coli, animal cells, and more with its sterilization and sealing mechanisms, as well as disk-type centrifuges capable of over 10,000 G of centrifugal force. Additionally, for subsequent purification, membrane separation systems such as DSS are available, achieving hybrid separation through centrifugation and membrane separation. The GMP-compliant disk-type centrifuge BT series and CultureFuge 100 can be pressure sterilized with 120-degree steam, and the stainless steel in contact with the product is subjected to pharmaceutical-grade electropolishing, while the gasket material complies with FDA standards, contributing to the life sciences sector. Disk-Type Centrifuge Comprehensive Catalog

High throughput, cost performance, and high reliability! Comprehensive catalog of compact centrifuges.

The disk-type centrifuge achieves an extensive separation sedimentation area of over 10,000 m² with a footprint of just 1 m² by stacking conical (umbrella-shaped) disks (separation plates) that open downward around a rotating axis. This allows for large-scale and high-speed separation in a small space. Hundreds of disks are stacked with a spacing of 0.5 mm, and a centrifugal force of 5,000 to 15,000 G is applied between the disks, resulting in instantaneous separation. Continuous separation of solid/liquid and liquid/liquid mixtures with particle sizes down to 0.1 microns and a specific gravity difference of 2% is possible. 【Advantages】 ● Capable of solid/liquid, liquid/liquid, and liquid/liquid/solid separation ● Maximum centrifugal force of 15,000 G ● Particles down to 0.1 microns can be separated without filter aids or coagulants ● Small retention volume allows for quick switching of processing liquids and stopping of processing ● Automation is extremely simple, reducing labor costs ● Sealed operation is possible when exposure to air is not allowed ● Separation occurs instantaneously, minimizing changes in the processing liquid ● Fully continuous operation allows for long hours of unmanned operation ● Explosion-proof specifications are available ● Extremely small installation space *For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

Algae Treatment Solutions: Effective Utilization of the Abundant Sea

We provide solutions that can be applied to algae farms, particularly in the fermentation stage of the process.

The cultivation of algae, or "algae farming," holds significant potential to provide effective answers to some of the world's most critical challenges, including the relentless rise in crude oil prices, the competition for resources related to the demand for biofuels and food, and the need to address the continuously increasing global population. One of the most anticipated fields, biofuels, contributes as an energy source that can replace traditional fossil fuels and help mitigate the increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. At Alfa Laval, we offer disc-type centrifuges, decanter centrifuges, and membrane separation devices that can be applied in algae farms, particularly in the fermentation stage of the process.
